THREE THINGS & ONE GOAL

I spent some QT with my sister and Penelope last weekend in Austin, and finally got to stay at the Hotel San Jose on South Congress.  It was every thing I thought it would be and more:  friendly staff; simple, beautiful decor; and uber convenient.  Our window literally faced South Congress!

We spent the weekend eating our hearts out (faves were Lucy's Fried Chicken, Home Slice Pizza, and HopDoddy Burger Bar), shopping till PJ dropped on South Congress (faves were The Turquoise Door, The Gypsy Wagon, and Tesoro Trading Company), and hanging at the pool at the beautiful Hotel Saint Cecilia (Hotel San Jose's sister property that they graciously let us crash).

Here are some pics to get a feel of what a fun, relaxing girls' weekend we had!

PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

My niece, Penelope June ("Penny" or "PJ" for short), makes the most ridiculous facial expressions.  Whenever I'm having a bad day, I'll text my sister to send me some Penny pics to cheer me up. 

So in her honor, I decided to start a this new series of Penny memes for your enjoyment.  This is how I feel about this week...

THREE THINGS & ONE GOAL

The sugar free smash cake I make for my sweet niece, Penelope June.  She demolished it at her first birthday party last weekend on the fourth.

The most delicious brussels sprouts and beet home fries at The East Side King food truck behind Liberty Bar in Austin, Texas last weekend.  My future sister-in-law, Jenn, snapped this photo, which is indicative of a typical day with my fiancé, Mead.

Quick snap of my puppy love, Sambo, and I during our stay at The Dixie Daisy in Wimberly, Texas last weekend.  I have been wanting to stay at this little decked-out Airstream since I spotted it on airbnb!  The whole family took a dip in the clear springs behind the property when we first arrived.  It was such a relaxing getaway.

ONE GOAL:  Learn Spanish in the next year!
